Exmoor National Park Parish Board Casements by TOP Design
Visitors and local residents will find it much
easier to find out about countryside access in a selection of Somerset parishes
thanks to eight new access information boards which have been erected around
Exmoor National Park recently: Luxborough, Cutcombe, Dulverton, Simonsbath,
Exford, Winsford, Withypool, Porlock.
Exmoor National Park Authority has worked in partnership
with eight Somerset Parish and Town Councils to gain funding from Somerset
County Councils Community Access Fund for the access information boards.
These boards are situated in key locations in each area and show general
access information for the public and local people such as the location
of public rights of way in their immediate location.
Paul Hawkins, recreation manager with Exmoor National
Park Authority said: The information shown on these boards will be
changed in August to show the new open access land and we would welcome
any comments or ideas on what a particular information panel should include.
The panels already include the location of existing public rights of way
for all users. Paul Hawkins can be contacted on 01398 323665 or by email
at: PDHawkins@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk
The idea for the boards came from consultation
with local people, user groups and other interested parties as part of the
Rights of Way Improvement Plan process. Thanks to the efforts of relevant
Parish or Town Councils. |
